The existing 2000 L hot water tank at Barclay Hotel had begun leaking and was too large to remove in one piece, so it was dismantled on-site. We replaced it with four Rheem 330 L cylinders, making future maintenance and replacements faster and more cost effective. New pipework was rerouted and brazed to ensure equal draw across all tanks, and the primary loop pump set was relocated with a custom seismic restraint system installed for improved safety and reliability.
Cordis relies on gas boilers and a plate heat exchanger to heat the domestic hot water supply for showers and fixtures throughout the hotel. As the existing exchanger had degraded over time, we removed it and installed a new unit to restore efficient heating. We also service and maintain the full hot water plant, including the boilers, storage tanks, booster and reticulation pumps, mixing valves, and control systems.
The Spencer Building hot water plant relied on six 340 L storage tanks supplied by gas boilers. With four tanks leaking and nearing failure, we removed the full set and installed six new cylinders. To keep hot water live throughout the upgrade, we decommissioned three tanks at a time. Isolation valves were also replaced to make future maintenance faster and easier.
